SUMMARY:Mountain Golf Tournament
DESCRIPTION:A tight-knit circle of family and friends will once again take to the greens August 14-16 for the 33rd Annual Mountain Golf Tournament. What began as a small gathering of 12 golfers has grown into a 70-player event\, now played across Olympic View\, Cordova Bay\, and Arbutus Ridge. \nThe tournament was originally inspired by Paul Sekhon — a founding member\, cherished friend\, and devoted family man who passed away in 2011. The compassionate care Paul received\, both on the Inpatient Unit and at home through the Palliative Response Team\, left a lasting impression on those closest to him. In his memory\, they remain committed to ensuring that others can access the same level of support at the end of life. \n“In the final weeks of Dad’s life\, being able to use hospice services at home was an incredible gift\,” shares Paul’s son\, Javas. “We had four weeks together in our home\, with friends and family coming to visit — something many people don’t get to experience. That time was truly special\, and hospice made it possible.” \nThe tournament also honours the memory of Raman Jhuti\, a valued team member and dear friend who passed away in 2020. \nThis year in addition to the golf tournament\,  Jalen Sekhon will be biking in the Tour Divide\, a 4400km bike ride from Banff to Mexico. He will be raising money for Victoria Hospice along side the Mountain Golf Tournament. If you would like to support Jalen’s fundraising please make a donation below and select “in honour of” when making a tribute gift.  \n \nTogether\, in tribute to Paul and Raman\, participants are working toward a $25\,000 fundraising goal this year.
