DESCRIPTION:A grief cafe is a social gathering of people experiencing bereavement who wish to talk about their own experience and listen to the experiences of others. \nWhen you arrive at the Victoria Hospice Community Support Centre\, you will be greeted by one of the volunteer facilitators. You’ll be invited to choose a drink or a snack and find a seat at one of the tables. The volunteers will introduce the format of the session and provide some short prompts to help guide conversation at the tables. You’ll have an opportunity to share your own story\, if you wish\, and to listen to the experience of others. \nPlease be aware that these sessions are social in nature and not a substitute for medical care or counselling. \nThere is no charge to attend\, however seats are limited and sessions fill up quickly\, so please do not request a ticket unless you plan to attend. If you have a ticket but can’t attend\, please call and let us know (250-519-3040) so that we can offer your seat to someone else. \nAlso\, this is not a drop-in event so\, please arrive prior to the start so that you have time to settle in. \nSeats may be reserved through the EventBrite link below.

DESCRIPTION:Victoria Hospice Bereavement Services is offering a virtual 8-week support group for adults who are bereaved after the death of someone important in their life. \nFacilitated by a bereavement counsellor\, this group incorporates grief education\, discussions\, sharing and support\, and therapeutic activities. The group aims to enhance one’s sense of community and belonging\, create space to grieve\, explore grief education\, promote discussions between members\, share about your person\, and support the healing and adaption process for each group member. \nMORE DETAILS \nWhen: Thursdays 4:30-6:30pm\, October 23rd to December 11th\, 2025 \nWhere: Online on Zoom. A camera\, microphone\, and a larger device (not a phone) that can support the Zoom platform is required. \nWho: A limited number of pre-registered participants to enhance comfort (A commitment to attend all 8 sessions is requested) \nHow: A pre-group interview with a counsellor is required to discuss your needs\, answer any questions you may have\, and determine whether the group is a good fit for you at this time.
