DESCRIPTION:If you are grieving the death of a loved one\, and are inspired by art-making and creativity\, join us for The Art of Grief Café. Facilitated by Victoria Hospice bereavement volunteers\, we offer a casual creative space every month for you to explore your experiences of grief. There will be a different creative project each month\, with a selection of art materials provided.  \nIf you would like to bring your own art supplies (non-toxic materials only) or grief-related project to work on\, please do. \n\n\n\n\nNo prior “art” experience is required to participate. \nThis is a 2 hour\, in-person event that takes place at the Victoria Hospice Community Support Centre at 102-4450 Chatterton Way. This is not a drop-in\, so please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start so that you have time to settle in. \nWhat to expect: \n\nWelcome and introductions.\nAn opportunity to create the project of the month.\nAn invitation to share with other participants and open group discussion.\nTea/coffee and some snacks will be available.\n\nThere is no charge to attend this event\, however registration is required. Seats are limited and fill up quickly\, so please do not register for a ticket unless you plan to attend. If you have a ticket but can’t attend\, please cancel your ticket through the eventbrite website or call and let us know (250-519-3040) so that we can offer it to someone else.

SUMMARY:Palliative Care Pharmacy: a 6 week UVic Continuing Education Course
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now open for UVic’s Palliative Care Pharmacy course\, October 16 to November 27\, 2026. \nDeveloped in partnership between Victoria Hospice and Continuing Studies at the University of Victoria\, the online Palliative Care Pharmacy micro-credential program enables pharmacists to acquire the specialized knowledge to support palliative care patients\, family\, health and community care nurses\, and general practitioners. Topics covered include: the pharmacist’s role in a palliative care team; principles of pain management; use of opioids in palliative care; symptom management; deprescribing; drug-related adverse effects; and cancer-associated thrombosis.
