SUMMARY:Living with Grief: Adjusting to Life After Loss (in person)
DESCRIPTION:A one-time workshop covering the basics of grief and mourning\, and ways to cope for those who are bereaved following the death of a loved one (this is the same content used in previous offerings of this workshop). This is an education-focussed but interactive workshop that encourages sharing from participants while learning about different ideas around grief and mourning. Although we will not be screening participants\, we recommend that you give yourself at least one month after your loss before attending this workshop due to the potentially overwhelming nature of grief. \n\n\n\nAre you grieving the death of someone important to you? Are you surprised by your grief and wondering what is normal and how best to cope? This workshop\, developed by the grief counsellors at Victoria Hospice\, will help you to deepen your understanding of your grief\, as well as offering a chance to connect with other grievers in our community. Join us as we: \n\n\n\n\nShare and support one another in your grieving experiences\n\n\n\nBetter understand grieving and mourning\n\n\n\nExplore the many ways that grief can impact our lives\n\n\n\nExplain how grieving naturally works to help us live with our losses\n\n\n\nIdentify ways to support healthy adjustment to loss\n\n\n\nExplore your continued connection to the person who has died\n\n\n\nHave opportunities for you to reflect and share on the material\n\n\n\nAnswer your questions\n\n\n\n\nTo register\, please complete the Eventbrite link \n\n\n\nThe workshop is free of charge. Please only register if you feel will be able to attend the workshop. As there are a limited number of spaces available\, confirming a ticket means you are claiming one of these spaces. Please do not attend if you have signs of illness/infection. \n\n\n\nIf you have further questions\, please call Bereavement Services at 250-519-3040 or email Hospice.Bereavement@islandhealth.ca \n\n\n\n
