For event organizer and Electrical Maintenance Supervisor Martin Schicchi\, this tournament is special. \nEight years ago\, Martin’s mother-in-law\, Dorothy Beggs\, experienced a life-limiting illness. As her care became overwhelming\, Martin and his wife turned to hospice for help. The compassionate staff swiftly arranged for Dorothy to receive exceptional care on the Inpatient Unit\, which left a lasting impression on Martin. \nSince then\, Martin has dedicated his fundraising efforts to this worthy cause. Martin has set an ambitious goal to surpass last year’s $4\,000 donation and needs support from the community to make it happen. \nThis year’s tournament takes place Saturday\, August 12 at Highland Pacific Golf Course\, with capacity for 80 enthusiastic golfers. Despite rising costs\, Martin is determined to keep the fees affordable for the hospital staff\, who make up the majority of participants. The event will also include a raffle and silent auction with donated items. \nJoin Martin and fellow golfers for a day of giving back and making a real difference.
