Grieving Through the Holidays (in person): workshop and candle-lighting activity
December 14, 2022 at 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL
Are you wondering how to get through the holiday season after the loss of an important person in your life? Facilitated by a bereavement counsellor and bereavement volunteer, this free workshop offers ways to cope with, honour, and navigate grief through the holidays. Along with other people who are grieving someone important in their life, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and learn about how to care for themselves as they grieve through this holiday season.
At the end of this workshop, participants will be invited to join together in a candle-lighting activity, meant to offer time to honour and reflect on their grief and their person. This grief activity will include music, poetry, candle-lighting, and heartfelt reflection.
The workshop runs Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at the Victoria Hospice Community Support Centre at 102-4450 Chatterton Way. (Please note this is similar material to the Dec. 2 online workshop.)
To participate, registration is required and is open to a limited number of participants. Please register for this workshop on Eventbrite.
Please note that when registering you are confirming your spot in a workshop with a limited number of spots, so please do your best to only register if you feel you are able to come.
As this is an Island Facility, you will be asked questions about any symptoms of Covid-19 at the door and are asked to wear masks during the workshop.
There is no charge for this workshop, but donations are gratefully accepted. Please call 250-519-3040, email Hospice.Bereavement@islandhealth.ca, or drop by 102-4450 Chatterton Way during typical office hours in order to donate.
