Through our courses, publications and clinical tools, we provide many training opportunities for medical professionals, volunteers, caregivers and other health care providers who wish to provide the highest quality palliative care.
Education & Research
Victoria Hospice is considered a leader in the development of information, tools and resources to assist in the provision of expert palliative care and has emerged as an international expert in palliative pain and symptom management.
We conduct ongoing research in the field of palliative care, and use the information we gather to develop tools to improve the quality of care provided to patients.
We provide resources and training to hundreds of staff and volunteers, both clinical and non-clinical, working at Victoria Hospice.
We provide many education opportunities for medical professionals, volunteers, caregivers, and other health care providers.
The Human Resources, Learning & Development Department delivers workshops for educational institutions, government and community agencies; providing instruction on a fee for service basis. Since 2005, we have also worked with Island Health to deliver the End of Life Care workshop series, which consists of five, half-day education sessions video-linked to hospices and hospitals across Vancouver Island.
The Research, Quality & Safety Department manages all copyright approval requests from individuals and organizations asking to use our material from our publications and clinical tools.
