• Marnie Setka-Mooney, soprano, Sara Partridge, mezzo-soprano, accompanied by pianist Jim Hill, perform Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s setting of the Stabat Mater sequence—an ancient 12-part hymn to Mary, the mother of Jesus. ‘Stabat Mater’ comes from the first line of the first movement, Stabat mater dolorosa, ‘the sorrowful mother was standing’.
