Adults Supporting Grieving Children & Youth: 4-Week Group

Thursday, November 5 at 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Supporting a child or young person through the death of a parent or primary caregiver can bring difficult questions and uncertainty. This four-week, in-person group from Victoria Hospice Bereavement Services offers practical guidance, compassionate conversation, and connection for the adults who are supporting grieving children and youth.

Adults Supporting Grieving Children & Youth is designed for parents, primary caregivers, and guardians supporting a child or young person who is grieving the loss of a parent or primary caregiver.

Facilitated by Victoria Hospice child and youth counsellors, the group will help participants better understand child and youth bereavement and explore ways to talk about grief within the family. Sessions will include practical activities and resources for grieving families, opportunities to ask questions, and time to connect with other participants who are supporting grieving young people.

Format: In-person, four-week group

Who it’s for: Parents, primary caregivers, and guardians supporting children and youth who are grieving the loss of a parent or primary caregiver.
