The third annual Hike On Your Site was another great success!
An offshoot of Hike for Hospice, the memorial walk and fundraiser for Victoria Hospice, Hike On Your Site provides an opportunity for seniors with mobility issues to participate in this popular event by walking on location at their own retirement communities.
While there was a smaller number of retirement communities participating this year; there was no shortage of fun, enthusiasm and support for Victoria Hospice! Collectively, the participating retirement communities raised over $5,000!
Hike On Your Site participants not only raised funds and awareness for Victoria Hospice, they engaged in physical activity and created a sense of community and purpose alongside their fellow residents. Through a variety of creative and easy-to-execute activities & events, including: ice cream socials, barbeques, raffles, 50/50 draws, rubber duck racing, happy hours and even a couple of live musical performances, each community came together with family, friends and neighbours to show their support for compassionate end-of-life care in our community.
