Celebrating Patricia Lamb
In January of 2017 a beautiful soul was lost in her earthly form. This soul was my sweet mom but she was also a daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, friend and an amazing teacher to countless students over her career. She was gentle, kind and wise. She had a way of making everyone around her feel important and heard, making her kitchen table a gathering place for family and friends.
Growing up, and for years after I no longer lived in her house, it was a rare occasion to walk into the kitchen and not find someone sitting at her table with a smile on their face while she busied herself in the kitchen serving coffee, tea and meals to them. Coming from a large Italian family, feeding her people was one of her love languages. She practiced reiki, yoga, tarot card reading and sought out organic food years before it was trendy or mainstream. I continue to discover even now how forward thinking she was.
It has taken me years to realize that although we would often have differences in opinions, she was my biggest cheerleader and has left a huge hole in my life and especially my children’s lives. Her grandchildren became her world. She spent countless hours volunteering in their classrooms after leaving her own teaching career and took great joy in attending all of their sporting and extracurricular activities. Although she probably didn’t understand the rules of whatever game or event she was watching, she was always there cheering loudly!
She is so loved and celebrated!
